Hi Marla,
I've been in Al Anon for a few months now, but I only go to face to face
meetings
sporadically. I'm very shy and have a hard time talking to people, so I don't
go to meetings
like I know I should, and I don't talk to people at the meetings the way I
should. My husband
is a month out of rehab, and very encouraging to me about going to meetings, but
I find it so
difficult. My self-esteem is very low from the years dealing with the
alcoholics in my life, and
I just don't know how to talk to people anymore. I'm very optimistic about this
program
though, and am just trying to be patient.
Good luck with your own meetings, and I'm sure that like me, the talking and
opening up at
meetings will get easier. Take care.
