Hello, and welcome, you have already taken the first step toward
sanity, in that you are looking for help. I come and go with this
group, but it is great to know it is here when I need it, you will
find that many of the posts resemble what you have gone through in a
eerily familiar way, and hopefully through communication we can all
help you and ourselves to become stronger and less codependant. I
welcome you! Keep a positive attitude, know that you didn't cause the
alchoholism, you cant cure it, but saying the serenity prayer will
take on new meaning. "God grant me the serentity to accept the things
I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.Good luck!

been dealing with alcohol in my family since I was a child and am 54
years old now. I have 3 sons who are all addicted to alcohol and
drugs and am at my breaking point. The middle son..age 32 is in a
recovery program now and is the one who suggested I get involved with
al-anon. Will someone please respond to this letter and offer me
some advise on how to change the way I am dealing with all this?
Thank you...Dixi
