I had Decompression Surgery on April 3, 2003 for Arnold Chiari Malformation, 20 mm herniated, no syrinx,I had a laminectomy of the c1, c2, and c3,I have a bovine graft. (Lining Of A Cow's Heart)

Before surgery I suffered with Blepharospasms. The BEB is not as bad since my decompression surgery. I still get botox injextions. Symptoms that went away after surgery are: Sleep Apnea,Tinnitus, Syncope (Different Than Passing Out), Paraathesia, Apnea, Aspirate, Ataxia, Atrophy, Basilar Invagination, Clonus, Dysesthesia (sensation of pins needles varies in differant parts of body in different poeple), Dysequilibrium (stumbling to one side), Dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing), Ectopia and More...

Anyhow, most of my symptoms are gone. I made this group as I want to help you understand Chiari and to let you know you are not alone.

There are caregivers in the group, such as parents, sisters, brothers. bestfriends,nieces/nephews spouses, cousins and more. Also, this group is for people who have Spina Bifida, Migraines, Lupus, MS, Chiari 0 Hydrocephalus, PTC, Buldging/Herniated Disc.
