Swine Flu now in UK - precautions   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #993 of 1063 |
Indications are that this virus will spread RAPIDLY world-wide because of how
much [crowded] public travel goes on...

Recommended measures to prevent getting or spreading this flu:

* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
* Carry tissues and dispose in bin immediately after use.

* Wash hands frequently.

* Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with flu virus.

* Avoid contact with people who have flu symptoms [including medical waiting
rooms!]

* Try to stay in good general health.

My additional tips...

KEEP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IN A BALANCED STATE...

* Get plenty of sleep, keep [moderately] physically active, manage your stress
[I have a stress amangement workshop comig up if you want to learn some new
techniques!], drink plenty of fluids and eat a nutritious diet.

Don't over-egg your immune system with immunostimulants - remember flu virus
does not actually kill, what kills us is an overactive body response to the
virus!

Keep some garlic & Tea-tree oil handy - both have antiviral properties!

To quote Corporal Jones from Dad's Army: "Don't panic!", "Don't panic!", "Don't
panic!", "Don't panic!", "Don't panic!".....

It might be quite mild, we don't know yet, but one thing we do know -
it's on its way to your neighbourhood!

We are actually close to the end of the usual "flu season" for the northern
hemisphere, some warm dry weather could reduce spread of this virus.
