Sufi Master Saadi [Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz] has spent decades studying and
decoding the healing wisdom teachings of Jesus ["Yeshua" in Aramaic] in the
Aramaic language in which Jesus taught, AND in the context of the Judean culture
and linguistic nuances in which these teachings were delivered. The result was a
bestselling book:
"Prayers of the Cosmos: Meditations on the Aramaic Words of Jesus"

Besides being a psychologist and internationally-recognised scholar
of Middle-Eastern languages and traditions, Saadi is
also a very accomplished musician. As he meditated on the Aramaic
version of what later became known as "The Lord's Prayer", a range of
melodies came to him, each one capturing the esoteric vibration of
the wisdom encoded in each line of the prayer. Not only did melodies
come to him, but also certain physical movements - related to
ancient "body-prayer" movements practised for thousands of years -
which provided a way to dance and holistically integrate the wisdom
of each line of the prayer. Some of these movements are offered as
holistic meditations in "Prayers of the Cosmos" but the full dances
can only be conveyed directly.
Saadi travels the world to give people the full experience of
chanting and dancing the Lord's Prayer in Aramaic, but he can't reach
everyone, so he has trained-up a number of musicians to convey them
in a style that is sacred as well as beautiful and moving.
One of these accomplished practitioners of the Lord's prayer Dances
is Darren Messenger, who is visiting Cambridgeshire tomorrow June
21st in a special Solstice Celebration event. I have been fortunate
enough to experience this special group of simple but powerful circle
dances both with Saadi and with Darren on past occasions. Usually we
have to travel a considerable distance to attend, but this one will
be right on our doorstep if you live in the Cambridge area.
No singing or dancing skill is needed to participate in this event.
It runs from 11am – 5.30pm Saturday June 21st at
Thriplow Village Hall, near Duxford, Cambs. There is an optional
opportunity in the evening to join in a celebration of the prayer
which includes taking bread and wine together (7-9 pm) in the pre-
Christian style which Jesus practised at the Last Supper.
Cost: £24 (whole day) - £10 (evening only) - concessions available.
Please bring a pillow and blanket and food to share for the early
evening supper (if you are staying for that). A simple lunch of soup,
salad, bread and cheese will be provided. Bring a cushion/stool for
quiet meditation moments if you wish. Further information: Margaret
Amina Nimmo-Smith tel. 01223 365484.

Please join us for this very special day workshop where we will tune
into different levels of meaning, and experience our personal
connection with the phrases from the Lord's Prayer in its original
Aramaic language.
We will practice the movements and Aramaic words of the Prayer during
the day, as well as share some meditations and dances. It is possible
to come for the evening only but preferable to experience the whole
day.
