Facing up to Frustration - Anger - Rage - Depression   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #716 of 1062 |
21st Century living can test the patience and tolerance of the best
of us! Life in the UK gets ever-more complicated, overcrowded and
technological, while the pace of life is relentlessly fast-changing.
At no time in history has the human race ever had to cope with so
much complexity, rules and speed of change.

In both the workplace and the home, many of us are struggling with a
greater range and complexity of tasks and responsibilities than ever
before, coupled with higher demands and expectations on us from
ourself and from others.

How do YOU respond to the frustrations and irritations in your life
and relationships?

Are you ever driven to explode into "over-the-top" self-damaging and
relationship-damaging outbursts of rage?

Or do you "hold-in" your anger and thereby set yourself up for high
blood-pressure, heart attack or stroke? Or do you turn your misery,
frustration and anger inwards on yourself, leading to spells of
depression?

Or do you turn to comfort-eating, alcohol or other addictions to make
yourself feel better when miserable or frustrated?

Holding anger in, is bad for our health, yet letting it out
unskilfully can damage our credibility, effectiveness and
relationships. Some people will learn to "give us a wide berth" and
others will seek revenge or seek to punish us for things
like "talking to me as if I am a naughty child" or "being high-
handed" or "being abusive" when in fact we had no such intention.

Uncontrolled outbursts so easily "shoot us in the foot", lower our
self-respect and undermine the respect that others have for us.

If you are interested in this topic, there are still a few places in
our 1 day "Anger Awareness, Management & Release" workshop on June
14th at Swavesey College, Cambridgeshire (booking office open also on
Friday morning this week). This is a uniquely practical workshop -
DEFINITELY NOT "a lot of talk and lecturing!".

A longer evening course in "Anger Awareness, Management & Release" is
also on offer in September.
Details of both these events at:
http://www.sunflower-health.com/workshops.htm
where you will also find information on our "Positive Thinking"
and "Exploring Mysticism" courses.

As the shadows of UK recession gather, there has never been a better
time to clear "Emotional Baggage" and "Get Positive"!

Best wishes

Mike
