The latest report of the UK government statutory surveillance scheme
for toxic residues in food reveals that UK cattle milk is now one of
the safest foods available to us.
Over two thousand milk samples were analysed in the period from
January to March 2004 and found to be free of drug residues,
pesticides and heavy metals. The results highlight the progress that
has been made in recent years in ensuring that milk is as safe as
possible.
