What is "Tantra"?
-----------------
In the manual "Tantra in Practice",
http://www.Amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0691057796/sunflowerheal-21,
based on thirty-six classical texts from China, India, Japan, Nepal,
and Tibet, dating from the seventh century to the present day, Tantra
is defined as "that Asian body of beliefs and practices which,
working from the principle that the universe we experience is nothing
other than the concrete manifestation of the divine energy of the
Godhead that creates and maintains that universe, seeks to ritually
appropriate and channel that energy, within the human microcosm, in
creative and emancipatory ways".

Another definition of Tantra is "A system of spiritual beliefs and
practices said to be derived from Sanskrit Roots signifying:
* "body" because of its emphasis on bodily activities;
* "stretch" because it extends the faculties of humans;
* "Rope" because it secures the devotee to deity;
* "Harp" for the music and beauty of its philosophy;
* "Interiorness" for the secrecy of its doctrine;
* "Loom" suggesting the 2 cosmic principles, male and female, that make up the
warp and woof of the woven fabric of the universe."

If you would like to know more about Tantra, or possibly even do some
practical exploration for yourself, there will be a workshop on TANTRIC MASSAGE
in Newmarket, Suffolk on December 2nd 2007. Details here:

Anger Management
----------------
Tantric practices are essentially about intimacy - journeying into
our personal inner depths and connecting from there with the inner
depths of others and the inner/outer heights of transcendental
experience.

One of the common blocks we encounter on this journey towards
personal wholeness ("to be intimate with life is to be intimate with
yourself and with your God!") is that of "held-in" (from past
negative experiences) self-sabotaging and life-sabotaging destructive
emotions - things like anger, rage, hatred, bitterness, jealousy and
resentment. Many of these natural and inevitable human emotions we
regard as unacceptable, and therefore we deny or disconnect from them
or mis-label them as merely "feeling [temporarily] angry".

As Kwai Chang Caine once said "You are human. You must be angry. To
hide such a feeling is to increase its force a thousand times!"

If you would like to contact and clear (and harness the energy of)
some of your held-in "anger" at life's past or present "frustrations,
disappointments, setbacks and blows" there will be an "Anger
Management & Release" Workshop at Swavesey College, Cambridgeshire on
Saturday November 24th.

Psychic Protection
------------------
If on the other hand, the destructive emotions of other people are
more your problem - e.g. if you are involved in work or relationships
that drain you or in spiritual development, healing, Reiki, deep
meditation, having psychic experiences or just mixing with people who
give off "bad vibes", it is important to be "up to speed" on the arts
of "Psychic Protection". Check out the workshop on this topic in
Newmarket, Suffolk on Sunday November 25th.

Whatever your forward direction just now, I hope you have a great
week!
