Thanks, Joyce and Felicity, for your postings, which have been very
timely for me too! - It seems that quite a number of us are on this
particular journey just now!
Last weekend, at the Deeksha (Enlightenemnt) retreat on the "kissing
point" of the Mary and Michael earth energy lines in the crypt of
Bury St. Edmunds Abbey, I heard myself saying that my
personal "cutting edge" at the moment is "acceptance".
I went on to say that "acceptance" is not, for me, a place of
passive, inert quitting or "giving up", but a place where the energy
that has gone into struggling with, or fighting against, some aspect
of my life, can be reclaimed and re-channelled into a new direction
and new patterns of perceiving, thinking, feeling and behaving.
"Let Go, Let God"
----------------
In line with this theme, which I wrote an article about a while ago:
http://www.lovehealth.org/books/letgo.htm - looking at the obstacles
and opportunities involved in "Letting Go".
I dreamed this weekend of a building site, where a lot of work was
in progress on my behalf by a firm of contractors ("God" or
my "Higher Self?).
There was something for me to do on this building site (my/our
evolving lifestyle), as a minor "add-on" to the work in progress,
but I must be careful not to impede the main construction work in
progress.
The theme of the Deeksha retreat last weekend was how our external
relationship difficulties reflect our internal fragmentation and
struggle (difficult relationhip with ourself). In the week since the
retreat I have found myself increasingly finding - the first
obstacle is bringing our unproductive patterns into awareness! - and
letting go of more (newly recognised) ways in which I
sometimes "drive myself" with "I should do..."s and "I need to..."s.
It seems "naughtily" self-indulgent to let go of things that I
really don't feel like doing, but better options keep filling the
space thereby created, and there is not the loss of energy that
comes from "forcing oneself to meet the mind's reasoning.
The "Comfort Zone" Trap
-----------------------
A word of caution here, is that "Letting Go" can easily fall into
lazily "staying within our comfort zone" and at worst an
increasingly "couch potato" lifestyle, with the negative health and
karmic consequences that this can bring. In this respect I draw
strongly on my "gut feelings" and "dowsed" or meditated inner
guidance to move me into potential discomfort zones when a bit
of "stress energy surfing" is appropriate!
If you want to test, practice or develop your own "gut feeling"
guidance in these challenging times, I will be running again my day
workshop on Intuitive Skills this coming Saturday - just outside
Cambridge.
A chance to develop your meditative access to inner guidance will
also present itself on Friday November 24th in Cambridge ("The
STILLNESS Path to INSIGHT").
