The most amazing healer of our era - and quite possibly of any era! -
is the humble and quiet Brazilian man, Joćo Teixeira de Faria, who over 3
decades has earned the nickname "Joao De Deus" ("John of God").

Joao does not claim any credit for his healings, he ascribes these
to a variety of "channelled" healing spirits that work through him.

This thursday we will be showing three mind-boggling films about his
work (made by three different documentary makers) at our
weekly "Healer Development" evenings in Cambridge. The films show
him:

* instantly healing people suffering from mobility problems, such
that they can throw away their crutches;

* carrying our tumour-removal surgery and stiching wounds without
any anaesthetic and without sterile instruments;

* carrying our eye surgery without any anaesthetic and while
blindfolded (to show that it is a spirit entity channelled through
him, which is doing the work);

* people being operated on by "unseen hands" while at the healing
sanctuary (sited on a mountain of quartz) where he does his work
(aided by teams of meditators channelling and grounding the powerful
healing energies of the location).

Two healers from Cambridge spent 3 weeks with Joao De Deus last
year, studying his work and receiving personal healing. They will be
present at our film showings on thursday evening, to tell their own
experiences, and to answer any questions.

According to Joao's biographer, Robert Pelligrino-Estrich, Joao De
Deus is the most observed, recorded, and tested healing medium who
has ever lived.

The healing spirits started working through Joao De Deus at the age
of 16. He was the son of a tailor and was raised in abject poverty.
One day, after he thought he had passed out from hunger, he came
round to find that he had healed a room full of people!

He has suffered terrible persecution for his work - in line with the
great healer whose work he seems to replicate - Yeshua (Jesus). For
some years he wandered from town to town, curing the incurable yet
vilified by doctors and priests who were jealous of his work and
called the police to stop him. He was even beaten by police and
jailed. He accepts no money for his work. Between starvation and
being beaten he suffered terribly but never gave up on his divine
mission to heal.

After many years of suffering, he founded a centre in Brazil called
the Casa de Dom Inacio (Dom Inacio de Loyola is the main healing
spirit entity that directs his work but there is a whole community
of spirit healers who work through Joao). The Casa is now run by a
large staff of volunteers - people who were cured by him and so
grateful that they now devote their time to help Joao's work.
