A lot of sense Felicity, and something I learned personally last year in India.
To be honest I'm very practically minded and if you'd told me five years ago
that I'd be chanting (and loving it) then Id have told you where to stick your
hippy BS - Yoga was one thing, but I just saw chanting as a load of nonsense.
When I was in Chennai last year doing a Yoga course they offered
Chanting lessons at lunchtime and, having briefly experienced the use of sound
in a workshop, I decided to do it. What a wonderful experience!
It's difficult for me to explain why, but sound just changes a yoga
practice so much. I rarely do a practice at home without incorporating some
sound into it. Bringing it into group classes is not so easy, but at least one
of my classes has voiced interest when we start up again in August.
Checked out your website Felicity, it's excellent and I love the audio- would
love to work with you if I lived a little closer. I actually love singing, can
hold a tune a little but recently thought of getting lessons to improve my voice
and express my passion for singing. Kind of ground to a halt, do you know of
anyone in Scotland who might be any good (I live just south of Glasgow)?
Cheers,
Scott
