The Cambridge "Working Together for Recovery" mental health project
has just this weekend launched a website:
http://www.workingtogetherforrecovery.co.uk/
One of several interesting holistic sections of the website is
devoted to "Mental Wellbeing". It says...
"Good mental health isn't necessarily something you have but
something you do. To be mentally well you must try to value and
accept yourself. This means that generally you care about yourself.
You work at loving yourself and try not to hate yourself. You try to
look after your physical health by eating well, sleeping well,
exercising and enjoying yourself.
You mainly see yourself as being a valuable person in your own
right. Don't feel you have to earn the right to exist. You exist,
therefore, you have the right to exist. If you cannot value and
accept yourself as you, you may feel frightened that other people
will reject you."
This section goes on to consider:
* What is the value of Exercise?
* What about Food?
* What role is their for Friendship?
* In the workplace
* Tackling discrimination

The UK government has launched a new website which aims to give
young people aged 14-16, the lowdown on health in a fun and
interesting way:
http://www.mindbodysoul.gov.uk/site/site.html
This Mind, Body and Soul website is not designed to tell teenagers
how to live theirlife, but information about health so that they can
make their own choices. It also contains material to help with
schoolwork and essay projects on these topics.
Mind, Body & Soul is divided into sections covering a range of
health topics from accidents to sun safety. The sections are packed
with facts, figures and useful advice. You can also find out the
latest health news, learn about healthy schools and a variety of
health conditions.
