The European Commission is currently preparing a Community Action Plan on
Animal Welfare and Protection which will outline planned initiatives in this
area for the coming years. It is very important that such initiatives take
into account the views of citizens and so this internet consultation is
being organised to collect information on public attitudes to the welfare
and protection of farmed animals. The consultation will close on 20 December
2005.
