Candle Wax, Wallpaper and Patio Weeds - Eco-friendly Removal   Message List

Candle Wax Stain Removal
------------------------
Candle wax can be removed easily from flat surfaces by covering with
paper and running a hot iron over. However, recently I needed to
remove a large candle wax stain that was scattered over the irregular
surface of a glass and wood bookcase. The large area of wax deposits
was the result of carelessly blowing out a large candle sitting
nearby. Next time I will be sure to use a cone candle snuffer!

The answer to this messy problem came in the form of a small low-cost
steam generator. This quickly melted the wax allowing it to be wiped
away.

Wallpaper and Patio Weeds
-------------------------
These steam generators are primarily sold for the purpose of removing
stubborn wallpaper or Artex ceiling finish, but can also be used for
chemical-free weed removal from garden patios.

Besides being an eco-friendly way to kill weeds, gardeners will also
find a steam machine useful for sterilising soil.

Warning: The steam comes out quite gently, but is 100oC so always
follow the manufacturer's safety instructions. Steam is colourless as
it leaves the nozzle.
