For those of you who are interested in these topics, but were unable
to come to our Angel Meditation session last week, I have put a few
pointers and resources together on this new webpage:
http://www.brothermichael.org.uk/resources/archangels.htm
One of the comments that came up after the meditation was "I always
go directly to God with my problems - I have never felt the need to
connect with angels".
Of course connecting with angels is purely an option - there is no
pressure to connect to them, and if direct consultation with God,
Jesus, Moses etc meets all of someone's spiritual requirements, there
may be no advantage in widening one's range of divine contacts.
However, the God that I know is the God of creation, diversity and
abundance. Given the rich heritage of angelic stories in the Jewish,
Islamic, Christian etc traditions, it seems a shame not to draw on,
relate to and enjoy these rich resources. Thousands of years of
spiritual art has shown us what a source of comfort, inspiration,
healing, beauty and joy the "angelic hosts" can be.
I also cannot help feeling that if I was God, and had created a
richly diverse and abundant panoply of angels and archangels to help
people, I would feel a bit irritated if everyone kept banging on my
door every time they had a problem!
It would be like me writing to the Queen every time that I had a
problem with the Royal Mail!
God bless you all..
May God's angels (the earthly as well as the heavenly ones) protect
you from all perils - especially those formidable perils that we
create for ourselves!
