Sandra,
Sounds like you guys have really had an eventful week. We've never
experienced seizures, I think if we do I will be crazy.
We will be praying for you guys, I can feel what you say about not
wanting to sleep, I would be the same way.
James has caught a stomach virus, it started today. Here in NC the
stomach virus is running rampant.
James has strabismus, it seems to be common in CP kids from what the
eye Dr. says, his eyes turn out some, the left worse than the right,
the eye Dr. wants to do surgery. Say's it's nothing we have to do
right away, but would suggest it be down before he starts school. It
seems like everytime we turn around they are wanting to do something
else to him.
On a good note, we think he will get to do another year of head start
(pre-K in some areas). The way his birthday falls on Sept 30th, our
school system says he should be in Kindegarten next year because he'll
be 5 on the 30th of Sept. This would make him the youngest in the
class, and James is severely delayed. We feel very strong about
another year of head start, not because we don't want our "baby" going
to kindegarten, but because it would not benefit James at this time.
He needs a little more time to develop his social skills/potty
training/communication skills/cognitive skills, etc. So I am pleased
that the head start program is finally willing to hear my plea. Also,
our Drs. and therapist feel that another year of head start would be in
James best interest.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Sandra, hope you get some rest!
Sharon
