Hello everyone,
Everyone calls me Nana Iam 57 and I have COPD. A breathing
problem.But my 23 year old grandson lives with me. He has CP and is
in a wheelchair.We need some help. We own our own home but it is in
bad disrepair and with my grandson in a wheelchair it is hard for him
to get around do to the floors being uneven, he has problem get
through doorways. Im at my wits end. I can't give him a bath in a tub
but in a water trough for animals. He came up with that idea when he
couldn't fit through the door nor get into the tub we have becouse
the lift doesn't move or swing around.
I have spent weeks trying to find a group who would loan us money
or better yet a grant to fix our house up. We have been told we would
quaify for a grant we live in Missouri. But we just can't find any
help. With me having COPD I could go at any time and I would like to
get our home fixed so he could live in it on his own with help from
Sadie a state (Missouri)program that lets handycapped adults live on
their own . Hiring and Firing their own worker. He has someone come
in for 6 hours a day 7 days a week.He will be able to live on his own.
Anyone with ideas please post them.If anyone who lives in Missouri
and is interestead in the Sadie Program. Ill gladly post.
