Re: [cerebral_palsy_support] dealing with disability

Hi, Derrick;
My daughter who is 11 has PC but she can walk but one thing I have done for her is get her involved in our local special olympics.  She loves it.  There is other children/young adults and adults all with one kind of disability or another,  but you know what know one notices they all just have a good time together  even in a wheelchair you can do bowling and swimming.   It's a great way to meet people just like you ( so to speak!).  I hope this helps.  Take care

Sue

Hello, my name is Derrick Harris and I'm 17 years old. I am in a power
wheelchair. I guess I joined this group to get some advice on how to
deal with my disability. When I was young I was ok with my disability,
but now I think about it all the time. I've asked teachers about this,
but I think I need to hear from others who are going through similar
situations. My teacher is helping me write this post.
