2002: A YEAR OF HEALING AND FINDING BALANCE
2002... Just look at that number... It just seems so even and
balanced... This year is the year of healing for me. In order to become a
more effective massage therapist and a better person, I need to find my
own balance and heal myself. This is not an easy task. I see this as a
lifetime endeavor, but this year is going to the year to make things
happen. What do I mean by that?
The words "change," "comfort level," and
"balance" comes up frequently for me. I have come to a
realization that in order for me to grow, I have to place myself in
situations that will help me to grow. Some situations may look like a
hindrance in my growth, but in reality, it's just a test... only a
test... You see, a change in my environment that would put me in a
different comfort level and yet find a way to have balance
is what I am striving for...
So this year, there will be a lot of changes happening, especially in my
massage business. One of those changes is my website. The site is being
revamped as we speak, and I need your help. I am looking for testimonials
to be printed on my testimonial page with your name alongside it. I will
appreciate any comments you have. This will also be a good way for me to
find out how massage has changed or made a difference for you.
Another change is to become a teacher for a few days. I will be holding
two separate Massage for Couples workshops, March 13 and
April 16, at the Renton Community Center. You'll learn basic Swedish and
deep tissue massage techniques for the back, shoulders, arms, and legs.
You'll also learn how to keep wear and tear on your body to a minimum.
The class starts at 10am and ends at approximately 5pm. To register
online, go to
www.ci.renton.wa.us
and click on "Cyber Sign-Up." Fee is $110 per couple. If these workshops go well, I will be putting together more workshops in the fall and winter seasons.
Sometime in the near future, my martial arts teacher, Jo Valmonte, and I will hold a "self-defense" class for women. I will keep everyone updated for those who might be interested.
Also sometime this summer, I would like to start up a cycling group. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in or know of anyone that might be interested. As for now, I am just working up to acquiring a road bike...
