I was just made aware of a website that tracks insurance companies who have a record of "bad faith" service to their customers. The website is:

 

 

I found my insurance company (State Farm) was #2 on the list and immediately called them up to ask why they are on this list of bad-faith insurance. They'll be getting back to me on that.

 

As a self-employed massage therapist, I've come across insurance companies that delayed and/or denied legitimate claims (in no particular order):

 

Allstate (delayed and discounted payments)

Progressive

Hartford (delayed payments)

Travelers (delayed payments)

 

If you'd had bad experiences with your insurance company in getting a claim paid on-time, they might just be on the list! You may need to change carriers.
