Massage for Couples Workshop (March 16)

Despite all the white stuff coming down, two couples were able to make the first Massage for Couples Workshop held by Lyn Yancha, LMP and Carolyn Mateos, LMP at the Renton Community Center, Saturday, March 16th.

A lot of topics were covered in the 7-hour workshop such as breath awareness, self-massage, oils/lotions, types of strokes, and the actual giving and receiving of massage. Because only four people showed up, the class became a private lesson in which Lyn taught one couple while Carolyn taught the other.

The next Massage for Couples workshop will be held April 13th. So far, there are only two people signed up for this class. Let friends and family know about this wonderful workshop! It will enable you and your loved ones to become a more knowledgeable consumer when looking for that massage therapist in your area and empowering yourself to maintain a healthy life.

UPCOMING IDEAS:

I have been thinking of a way to make sure that the community knows about the different alternative health care providers in their area by holding an Alternative Health Expo at both Renton Community Center and Tukwila Community Center. The idea is to have Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, Chiropractors, Naturopath Doctors, and other alternative health care providers to be in one place to meet the community. In this scenario, the community can ask questions in order to be better informed of how they can benefit from alternative health care as well as receive complimentary massages by the massage therapists.

Of course, this is just an idea. I am in the process of researching how much time and financial backing will be involved in this HUGE undertaking. I do hope that if and when this goes off the ground, this will become an annual or bi-annual event in our community.
