What a rousing success!
Everyone who was a part of this event made history Saturday, April 17th, by creating the 1st Annual GSBA Gay Wedding Show. The venue was transformed into a magnificent Wedding Hall with all the wonderful vendors taking the time to create wonderful displays, the Committee and volunteers giving their all and the media was thrilled to broadcast our success to the world in just 3 months! How was all this possible?
Our Attendees who came to shop, to plan, to feel proud and to be a part of history, found themselves in a world that portrayed their lives – at the GSBA Gay Wedding Show, they were in the Majority Culture and what a great culture we have!
The event was reported everywhere because of the outstanding efforts of:
Marketing Co-Chair: Matt Ketcham, Ketcham Design for creating the perfect Gay Wedding Show logo that gave us our identity, and for designing all those terrific ads that everyone saw everywhere.
Marketing Co-Chair: Casey Van Damme: 98.9 Smooth Jazz KWJZ for using his knowledge and charm and wonderful way of building relationships which resulted in great radio airtime, primo spots for tons of newspaper ads and making sure we were seen everywhere.
PR and Marketing: Chris Porter, whose way with words and ability to write compelling press releases peaked the interest of the entire media world – and they showed up and stayed for most of the event – amazing work, Chris.
SGN Liaison and Marketing Support: Brian Rubenaker, SGN and Rubenaker Hydroplane Racing for creating the winning partnership with the Seattle Gay News
I have made new contacts and clients in this event, so Century Massage & Bodywork will certainly be doing this again in 2005! Hope you could join us next year!
Just a reminder... I will be out of the office 4/30 through 5/5 attending a seminar in Baton Rouge, Lousiana.
Have a great day!
