Hello everyone:

I have a Charge that I am working with in Huntsville/Livingston Texas

know if there are any Advisers who is familiar with the Conversations

that area would be grand.

If there is anyone interested, please email me so that I can fill you in.

the mind through the maze of blocks and clearings toward clear
harmony.

Our Divine Skin: Accessing the Noetic Mind

Rebecca Skeele, MA, MSS

Fri & Sat March 30 & 31st @ Casa de Luz ~ Serena Room ~ 1701 Toomey Road, Austin, TX

Registration, Friday 6:30 pm. Workshop Friday 7-10 pm; Saturday 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

We are powerful creators. The energy field around our body, the aura, is encoded with full knowledge of our potential and programmed for health and well-being in our body, mind, and spirit. It records the imprints and impressions that we hold in our mind. These thought forms can be negative and create dis-ease.

Noetic Field Therapy (aura balancing) reveals the misperceptions and misidentifications of the personality/ego, clears the error with awareness, attention, self-forgiveness and compassion – and invites and invokes the Highest Consciousness to reawaken each cell to its original innocent state of divine perfection.

As you let go of the counterfeit energy forms and experience your true divine frequencies, the sacred blueprint as a cocreator with God, is activated.

This work is perfect for anyone who works in the energy field and the demonstration of the aura balancing will give you a kinesthetic glimpse of the Noetic geometry of who we really are.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

  • Uncover and move beyond the limited conditioned story
  • Practice and experience a Self-Mastery Model of shifting
  • View a demonstration of soul awareness using aura balancing
  • Learn clearing techniques that access the Noetic mind

To register or for more info, phone Maggie Duval of Lively ‘Hoods at 512.912.0032 or email info@.... Space is limited to 12. Cost: $175, or $150 if you register by March 9th, 2007.

REBECCA SKEELE, President of Make It Heaven, LLC, is an author, master facilitator and Noetic Field Therapy Practitioner who teaches cocreating heaven on earth. She is the author of You Can Make It Heaven: How to Enrich Your Life with Abundance and Loving, the professional course Becoming a Spiritual Scientist: A Course for Cocreators, and numerous articles supporting personal and spiritual growth. She combines her extensive years as a spiritual counselor and coach, two Masters degrees in Spiritual Counseling and Spiritual Science, her certification in the Noetic field of consciousness and her study as a nondenominational minister to support conscious choice and awakening to the truth within. http://www.spiritual-scientist.com :: http://www.makeitheavenllc.com

The data is in: the nature of work in America is changing. More and
more of us are no longer working in large enterprises, but are
instead choosing to work in small and micro businesses. What is
missing from these new economic and sociological models are the
personal support systems and built-in networking systems that the
bigger organizations provided.

Bootstrap Austin has experienced explosive growth as it has stepped
in to fill this niche for a growing number of entrepreneurs. There
are lessons to be learned for all of us in the way that we work, in
how we participate and in how we run our social organizations.

This month we have a panel discussion with the founder of Bootstrap
Austin, Bijoy Goswami, its Chief Firestarter, Kevin Koym, and Chief
Ambassador, Steve Harper. They will speak about the emergence of the
Bootstrap model and what implications it has for us in how we work
and network.

Bijoy Goswami is the co-founder and CEO of Aviri and the founder of
Bootstrap Austin, a vibrant open source community of entrepreneurs
building companies the old-fashioned way - with little to no startup
capital. The group has evolved into the Bootstrap Network with
chapters in multiple cities

Raised in India, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, Bijoy moved to the United
States in 1991 to attend Stanford University, where he studied
economics, history and computer science. He was also an Oxford
scholar and completed an Honors program in Science, Technology and
Society. After graduating from Stanford, Bijoy joined Trilogy
Software, where he worked for five years in business development,
sales, consulting, and product management.

Bijoy's first book, The Human Fabric, explores the MRE Framework in
detail. The book was released in November, 2004.

Kevin Koym is Founder and CEO of Enterprise Teaming, LLC and has
built seven startup companies in his career. Enterprise Teaming makes
companies succeed by leveraging networks of entrepreneurs to drive
innovation inside of corporations and communities. These practices
are being utilized to build Bootstrap Austin, a vibrant network of
650+ bootstrapping entrepreneurs, as well as the Prueba el Mundo
("Test the World"), a network of 1200+ entrepreneurs in Latin
America.

Kevin led Dell Computer Corporation to enter into eCommerce, selling
more than $1 Bil of revenue on software that Kevin's teams built.
Kevin created similar success for AT&T Wireless and Apple, as well as
leading the rapid launch of a number of startup companies and skunk
works. Kevin has worked and lived across the US, in Chile, and in
Mexico. He leads an integrated approach to "enterprise teaming"
between corporations and entrepreneurs through speaking, training,
and social software. For more information see
www.enterpriseteaming.com

Steve Harper is a serial entrepreneur, professional speaker, business
strategist and author of The Ripple Effect: Maximizing the Power of
Relationships for Life and Business. During the past twelve years,
Steve has owned two office technology companies and was the youngest
Xerox Agent in the country when he opened his first company,
Innovative Office Solutions, at the age of 23.

After the sale of his second company, Steve founded a consulting firm
called The Ripple Effect. Steve is considered a leading authority on
the power of connections and relationship management. He and his
Ripple team focus on helping companies of all sizes deepen and
strengthen the relationships they have with their clients, prospects
and employees.

*A Great Way to Help Innocent Orphaned African Children who
are victimized by wars

Friends, I saw an amazing film this week called "God Grew Tired of
Us" which detailed the plight of 25,000 Sudanese "Lost Boys",ages 3
to 13,who were orphaned as a result of a tumultuous civil war in
Sudan. Watch clips at: http://www.godgrewtiredofus.com

The boys were forced to travel barefoot across the sub-Saharan desert
to find refuge from famine, disease, wild animals and attacks from
rebel soldiers.

The star of the film, John Dau, one of the Lost Boys, serves as the
Director of the Sudan Project, Direct Change which is raising funds
to complete the Duk Lost Boys, as well other projects to improve
healthcare and education. If you are moved to donate to this or other
charities to help these and other people like them, go to
http://www.godgrewtiredofus.com/charities.html

**Thought That Counts Quote:

"Not to forgive is to be imprisoned by the past, by old grievances
that do not permit life to proceed with new business. Not to forgive
is to yield oneself to another's control... to be locked into a
sequence of act and response, of outrage and revenge, tit for tat,
escalating always. The present is endlessly overwhelmed and devoured
by the past. Forgiveness frees the forgiver. It extracts the forgiver
from someone else's nightmare." ~Lance Morrow

**Today's Affirmation: I am forgiven and I am forgiving.

**Today's Meditation:

Dear God,
By the power of Your spirit, teach us how to forgive.
We release the past completely in order to live fully in this moment.
Show us the innocence at the heart of all beings.
As we recall those feelings and situations that we drag along on our
life-journey,
we expand our vision to include You.
We forgive ourselves and we forgive all others;
for any word, thought or deed that was not loving.
We seek Your guidance and direction so that we do not repeat the
past. This is the very moment we begin again.
Alleluia!  Amen

2) Collaborative Brownfield Cleanup
I am writing to invite you to be part of a collaborative landscape
architecture project that I am facilitating in Southeast Austin with
the Rhizome Collective this Saturday afternoon beginning at 11 AM
(weather permitting):

We are in the second phase (plastering phase) a 16' diameter
bench/plaza, located on an 9.8 acre former landfill that the Rhizome
Collective was granted a few years ago, and have since cleaned up and
are turning into a beautiful natural center for environmental
education. The brownfield has been an amazing example of how
sustainable methods can be used to de-toxify the land. (link:
http://rhizomecollective.org/brownfield.html) Attached are a few pics
of where we are so far...

You don't need to know anything about superadobe, nor are you
expected to work—just drop by, say hello, and see what we're doing
and if it's something you'd like to learn more about or something
you'd like to see on your land/yard.

GETTING THERE:
     *  From downtown Austin head east on 7th St to 183 South;
     * exit rt. 183 onto Montopolis Drive, (an immediate right after
the bridge);
     * make the first right (also called Montopolis Drive);
     * left on Clovis;
     * left on Kemp
Follow Kemp 1/4 mile down to the middle of the block, looking for the
sign "Grove St. Cleanup" on your right. You'll enter the gate and go
down a small dirt hill driveway. (If you're in a little car, you may
want to park on the street and walk down). Follow the driveway down
into the clearing and you'll see us working.

Yahoomaps link (copy and paste this into your browser for the map):

TO WEAR (If you're working):
Work clothes, sturdy shoes, heavy rubber gloves or work gloves. We'll
have some extras but probably not enough for all.

TO BRING: water, a snack to share. Camera to take pictures.

5) Camp Enterprise: Kids Money Camp

Are your kids always thinking up great business ideas, ways to make
money, or the next perfect mousetrap? Well, here's an excellent way
for them to explore the world of business.

The wildly successful "Camp Enterprise" business camp is being
offered over Spring Break. The Money Academy will be leading the 5
day journey into business ownership. Campers will work together to
start a business for the week.

They will spend a week as entrepreneurs, learning from successful
local business owners, as they start and run a business of their
own. For instance, in one camp the kids started "Enterprise Plants"
selling potted herbs, and another group sold hand painted greeting
cards. Field trips, guest speakers, and a special activities foster
teamwork and integrity, which are the cornerstones of the camp. And
they love the idea that they get to keep the money they make from
doing business for the week.

The big plus here is that they learn how to use that money to make
more money!
It's a great way for kids to learn how to turn their great ideas into
real
businesses. Register at www.themoneyacademy.net or call The Money
Academy at 443-8851.

7) For the SECOND-TO-THE-LAST SUNDAY is February 18th, 6-8 pm (sorry
for the scheduling shifts; the hall wasn't available on the last
Sunday this month), the "Last Sunday" gathering will focus on war and
empire, featuring Butch Hancock, Jim Hightower, and Ana-Maurine Lara,
along with regulars Gilkyson, Rigby, and Jensen.

Where: Saengerrunde Hall, 1607 San Jacinto, next door to Scholz
Garten.

Our goal is to examine not only the current war in Iraq and the
ambitions of this administration, but the larger project of dominance
that U.S. policymakers have pursued in the last half-century -- and
the consequences of that for the world.

Our special musical guest will be Butch Hancock, who many know as one
of the founding members (with Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore) of The
Flatlanders. Hancock's 2006 record "War and Peace," his first solo CD
in almost nine years, takes on the politicians' lies and platitudes
through a masterful set of songs including "The Master Game"
and "Cast the Devils Out." Hancock's voice, warm and scratchy after
all these years, brings a depth to the call for peace and justice.

One writer/agitator who has long called out the powerful on the
imperial project is, of course, Jim Hightower. He will be back to
offer his analysis of the debacle in Iraq, which he's been providing
for years in books and the Hightower Lowdown.

Writer and organizer Ana-Maurine Lara will take up the subject of
empire with a focus on its effects on the people around the world.
Through analysis, poems, and a reading from her novel Erzulie's
Skirt, Lara will highlight the impact of these policies on women's
bodies. Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in East Africa and
the United States, Lara has for more than a decade worked as a
community organizer, educator, and trainer. She is co-publisher of
bustingbinaries.com, a website that challenges binary thinking in
U.S. based social justice movements.

Robert Jensen will chart the bipartisan nature of this U.S. imperial
project over the past 60 years, concentrating on the systemic nature
of the problem. Jim Rigby will look at the deeper spiritual death
that comes with these policies that seek dominance. And, happily,
Eliza Gilkyson is back from the road and will play one of her new
songs about these problems.
Folks from the various antiwar groups in the Austin area will be at
Last Sunday with information about their work. When the program from
the stage is over, we'll turn our attention to their work and
informal discussions about organizing.
As always, the gathering is free and open to the public, with light
refreshments and child care available. We will continue to pass the
hat to cover the costs of the event.
Mark these dates: In March and April we'll be back on the last
Sundays: March 25 (focusing on the ecological crisis) and April 29
(economic justice). And plans are afoot for a final gathering of the
season in early June to celebrate the Last Sunday community.
in solidarity, the Last Sunday gang (Eliza, Jim, Robert)

Hello Stacey,

    Just thought I would respond to your email explaining the formation of TAMSO (TEXAS Association of Massage School Owners). The association formed to represent the interest of Massage School Owners.

    TCMSI (Texas Coalition of Massage Schools and Instructors) has been inactive for about a year. I am currently trying to reorganize the group. There is a meeting in Dallas @ Texas Massage Institute on Gaston Ave from 10-12 on Friday, Feb. 16. The meeting is open to any Massage Educator in the State.

    I am attaching the current draft revision of TAMSO. I will be happy to answer any questions regarding the draft.

I will be speaking to the AMTA TEXAS Chapter Board on Monday. I will be requesting their endorsement and sponsorship of the TAMSO Draft. I do not know any thing about the activities of other group, TAMT, but would be happy to talk to them as well. I'll keep you posted.

Dear Friends,

In an effort to know more about who is influencing my profession’s licensing and to create an informed opinion, I am continuing to research and ask questions (in between clients, of course!).  While I have heard several rumors and speculations, I have not seen any posts to further educate the community on what is going on.  This is what I have, so far:

I found out that TAMSO is the newly formed Texas Association of Massage School Owners.  You can visit their website http://www.tamso.org/.  This group grew out of the original Texas Coalition of Massage Schools & Instructors (TCMSI).  I was invited to join TCMSI as an instructor, but did not take the opportunity to do so.  There was brouhaha in the group last year and I hear it is currently inactive.  I can’t get to their website because it was hacked since I first found them over the weekend.  This new group (TAMSO) is for independent school owners only and the list of member schools is posted.  Their tag line seems to say it all:  THE FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS.

Perhaps the continued division in our profession has allowed politicians and school owners to have a larger voice in our licensing than we may care for them to have.  It is my understanding that TAMSO was founded by Raul Flores, owner of The Academy for Massage Therapy Training in San Antonio  http://www.academyformassage.com/ .  If you do not know who he is or what he stands for, you might want to be more informed. Anything I could write would be hearsay (I read some things last year that greatly concerned me personally; I no longer have any of those posts.)  Last year there was also a proposal to have CE instructors pay a $1,000 annual fee to be approved providers! If anyone has some actual writings, or was physically present through the brouhaha, please create a post for our edification.  Please do not post speculation or any other unfounded information.  There are enough rumors floating around out there.  Let’s use this forum to provide education and understanding.  Discussions that include solutions and action plans would also be appreciated.

The latest TAMSO draft was sent to me by a TAMSO member and can be found here http://www.healingtouchtherapies.com/MergedDraft.pdf    There is a meeting on Friday (that’s tomorrow) in Dallas at the Texas Massage Institute on Gaston Aver from 10-12.  It is open to any massage educator in the state – yet I just found out about it in today's e-mail.  It may be that the meeting was called hastily in reaction to recent developments.  Whatever the reason I didn’t get the invitation in a timely manner, I’m feeling a bit sensitive about it.

From what I gather, we are very lucky that Heather Muehr at DSHS is willing to listen to other voices.  She has been keeping the long-time leaders in the massage therapy and bodywork community apprised of developments as she gets them - that’s how we found out about the new umbrella agency that is now in the works.  I’m looking forward to learning more about this new agency.  I’ll keep looking for more posts about it.

For those of you newer to the profession, there are several leaders in the community who have worked tirelessly over the years to get the licensing laws to make massage therapy professional as well as protect the public (the original intent of the law).  These men and women have been riding an oft times uphill battle.  Texas massage therapists have come kicking and screaming into the world of professional licensing and some of it hasn’t been pretty.  Thanklessness doesn’t even begin to cover what some of these therapists have had to endure.  The professional associations have been in a state of semi-activity, as volunteer leadership is not only time consuming, it is a thankless and often lonely and frustrating job. Some of the same people take leadership positions because no one else will, some give up out of exhaustion.  All the name-calling, rumor spreading, motive imputing and whistle-blowing divisiveness in our community hurts us as a whole.

BE INFORMED!  My goal in forwarding information is to educate and to stir us up to being pro-active professionals.  We may have a greater influence over this new umbrella agency by showing that we are working together.  We will be moving to a 500 hour state, that much is clear.

We know that the term “Asian Bodywork” is being used as a front for prostitution.  I heard reports of it in other places before I heard of Rep. Anchia’s bill.  I did hear the other day that the chair therapists in local malls may be unregistered and non AOBTA people performing a variation of Asian bodywork called Tui Na.  This is still a rumor, as I have not had time to research this.  Does anyone know more about it?

There has been another volley between the non-Swedish crowd and Rep Anchia’s office.  I have posted all the correspondence to http://www.healingtouchtherapies.com/html/massage_laws.html .

I also understand that the Rep. Anchia’s draft posted to my site is an old version.  The latest information from Rep. Anchia’s legislative director, Damien Brockmann is that a revised bill will be posted to a website in about a week.  It is supposed to take the collective concerns of the bodywork community into consideration.  All I can say to that is, “whew!”  Did anyone else feel insulted by the language and proposed police action?  I look forward to the new version and I will pass it along as soon as I have it.

I look forward to further dialogue.

Sincerely,

S ô¿ô

ROCK ART TRIP TO SEE THE PECOS RIVER ROCK ART
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Organized by Priscilla Murr for the Jung Society of Austin Cost:
$310.00 First payment due by February 10: $100.00 (Check made out to
the Jung Society. Mail to 1500 W. 6th St. Austin, Texas 78703)
Remainder due by March 1, 2007
Description of trip: Saturday March 10, 2007: Meet in Del Rio, Texas
at the Best Western. We will have a discussion of the rock art sites
and their potential meaning that evening at about 7:30.
Sunday March 11,2007. After breakfast we will meet in Comstock at a
location which I will tell you about Saturday evening. We will meet
our guide, Allen Wright, and begin our first day of rock art. In the
morning we will visit Painted Cave, a site which is a different rock
art from Pecos Style rock art: it is much more modern, perhaps 1500
years old, with large figures painted in red. It is called red
monochrome and the human figures carry bows and arrows, a sign that
it is much more recent rock art. We will have a picnic lunch at the
White Shaman site and in the afternoon we will visit the White Shaman
site,perhaps the most famous site in the area with the renowned and
beloved white shaman. We will be free in the evening, perhaps we will
all go to Ma Crosby's in Ciudad Acuña for dinner (a very particular
restaurant in Acuña).
Monday March 12, 2007: We will all visit two sites this day: Fate
Bell Shelter and Fate Bell Annex and the Panther Cave. Panther Cave
is reached by boat on the Rio Grande. The boat can take about 8
people at a time so we will split the group, and those who don't get
on the boat at the first time will go to Fate Bell. When the first
group returns from Panther Cave, they will go to Fate Bell and the
others will go to Panther Cave. (If the water levels in the Rio
Grande aren't deep enough, we may have to revise this part of the
trip: pray for rain some place on the Rio Grande, upstream from
Amistad Dam) Panther Cave is one of the most impressive sites in the
area with 8 feet tall feline anthropomorphs and many indications of
shamanic practices. Lunch will be sometime during that day, probably
at the State Park. In the evening we will have a barbecue at the very
typically West Texas home of Allen Wright: it will consist of
brisket, potato salad, beans, etc along with beer or margaritas.
Tuesday March 13, 2007: Visit to the Curly Tail Panther Site. This is
a site for the brave of heart who are not afraid of heights (that
does not include me) and who are in good physical condition. It is a
beautiful site with very special rock art and well worth the effort.
It is about 20 miles north of Del Rio and you can return to Dallas
directly from there rather than coming back to Del Rio. If you decide
not t to go to the Curly Tailed Panther, you can spend the morning
with me exploring Old Town Del Rio and its historic origins,
including the San Felipe Springs which even today provides Del Rio
with all of its water. We can also visit the Whitehead Museum. This
is, unfortunately, not rock art but it is actually very interesting.
Or, we could hike to the overlook above Panther Cave and the Rio
Grande. That might be of interest if anyone is a birder.
If the trip does not fill up with twenty people, we may have to
charge a little extra due to the cost of the boats. Normally on these
trips I have between 18 and 20 people so we must be optimistic. Also,
I was unable to make reservations at the hotel closer to Comstock
which I had hoped for. If I am able to make those reservations later,
the price of the trip may come down a little bit (between ten and
twenty dollars). This is not an easy trip to plan. Most of the rock
art is on private property or on sites which are very difficult to
access such as Panther Cave (difficult because it is so dependent on
the fluctuations of the river level).
The cost of the trip includes all guide fees, the boat fees, one
dinner, two lunches, your hotel room, and a $40 donation to the Jung
Society of Austin. If you have any questions, please call Priscilla
Murr at (512) 482-0074.
  THIS THING CALLED LOVE: LECTURE AND POTLUCK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaker: Karen Vandiver, LPC, PMFT - Saturday, February 17 at 6:30
p.m. $ 10 per person CEU: 1.5 hrs
Love inspires world religions, classic art, music, poetry and
architecture – it is a force to be reckoned with. The book Anam Cara
describes it as an aspect of soul friendship. Others say that it is
the eternal bond between the individual and God. The Christian Bible
declares, "God is Love." Some say love is universal and lives or dies
depending on the strength of its foundation.

Today, however, romance is a best seller of love in most forms and
pre-occupies men and women of all ages regardless of race, creed, or
color.

Love can create, destroy, and irritate. Heroes and fools are born of
love. Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote, "'Tis better to have loved and lost
than never to have loved at all." But, Inyat Hazrat Khan said, "God
breaks your heart again and again until it stays open." Can the idea
of love compare to the reality? Join our exploration of This Thing
Called Love.

Karen Vandiver, LPC, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist
with 23 years of training and experience in psychotherapy, who has
worked extensively with individuals, couples, families, businesses,
and groups. She is a past-president of the Jung Society of Austin.

East-West Astrological Traditions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaker: Linda Mackey Friday,March 2 at 7:30 p.m. Isis Institute,
1300 W. Koenig Ln., Austin $12 members/$15 non-members
East-West Cultural Perspectives study Western and Vedic (Indian)
Astrology to demonstrate the commonalities within the two great
traditions.
But such study also shows significant points of divergence in
substance or emphasis, or both. The similarities and differences give
insight into the cultures which sustained these astrological
traditions.
The East West dialogue has been enthusiastically pursued for the last
few decades and has enriched all who participated in it. The
comparative study of astrology brings a great deal to that dialogue.
Linda Mackey, PhD with degrees in Philosophy and Asian Studies, now
teaches at Austin Community College. She has traveled to India
beginning in the 1970's and studied Vedic Astrology with a
traditional village Jyotishi (astrologer).
  The Gospel of Thomas: Depth Psychology Two Thousand Years Ago
Speaker: Wynette Barton, M.A. Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. Isis
Institute, 1300 W. Koenig Ln., Austin $12 members $15 non-members
Amid profound excitement, scholars announced that ancient materials
discover at Nag Hammadi, Egypt in 1945 were surviving copies from the
Gospel of Thomas. They predicted a revolution of Christianity.
A closer look at the relatively short text of 114 sayings attributed
to Jesus reveals puzzling paradoxes – careful study suggests that
Jesus was talking about no more – and no less – than the process of
becoming conscious.
The text speaks of finding the kingdom within in a way that
challenges listeners to hear what they already know, but don't know
that they know. "Know what is before you," says the Gospel of
Thomas, "and what is hidden will be revealed."
Wynette Barton, M.A. is a graduate of the C. G. Jung Institute of
Zurich and is in private practice in Austin. Her study of the Gospel
of Thomas and other pre-Christian and early Christian texts was
inspired by her passion for ancient history and the Greek and
Egyptian myths.
See the Shadow—Transcend the Blizzard of Mind
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaker: Rev. Mahalele Louis Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. Isis
Institute, 1300 W. Koenig Ln., Austin $12 members / $15 non-members
The movie, "Ground-hog Day," is a most profound (and hilarious)
approach to the aim of psychology: the awakening to love and to
selfless service to humankind. It is said that, on February 2, if the
groundhog, a little furry animal sees its shadow, there will be "six
more weeks" of bad weather. Is there more to this folklore tradition?
This presentation is for you:

• If you are waking up day after day after day to the same situation
and feel challenged in changing the script that owns you.

• If you believe that there is a time for every season under heaven

• If you are willing to see how LOVE is a force that can take you
and/or your client out of the comfort of the pattern and into a
deeper knowledge of the Self

Rev. Mahalene Louis is an Inspiration Anchor, a Futurist, an Artist,
an Author and the President of Soulvision Axis, Inc. She recently
authored Book 1 of "Healing the Jewish Agenda; If it weren't for
family, food, sex and money, I would do great on Earth! "

Little Match Girl: An Archetypal Tale
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaker: Diana Heritage Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. Isis Institute,
1300 W. Koenig Ln., Austin $12 members $15 non-members
From childhood to old age, fairy tales capture our imagination. They
offer guidance for human development and insight into the archetypal
energies within each of us. These ancient and compelling stories
reflect the eternal dramas that are the real life dilemmas we
encounter in the journey of our lives.
Why are fairy tales so compelling? Is it because they harking back to
our childhood when were young and the veil between the unconscious
and consciousness was thinner. In childhood we intuit the archetypal
underpinnings that are fundamental to the human experience. These
colorful, sinister, sad and humorous themes are the figurative bones
of our humanity. Simple yet complex they act as guides to our inner
wisdom that are invaluable for psychological growth and maturity.
The Little Match Girl, by Hans Christian Andersen, is a heart-
rending, moving story, reflecting an archetypal pattern which has
been experienced by many.
Diana Heritage holds a masters degree in social work from the
University of Houston and is a graduate of the InterRegional Society
of Jungian Analysts. She is a Jungian Analyst and has been in private
practice in Houston since 1993.
Jungian Archetypes at the Movies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Presenter: Emily Carter, M.A. Three Saturdays at 4:30 pm. ISIS
Institute - 1300 W. Koenig
• April 28 - Classic Hero: STAR WARS

• May 12 - Feminine Hero: WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING

• June 9 - Tragic Hero: GLADIATOR

We will gather to watch films with box- office success that
illustrate Jungian archetypes and mythic story structures as
described in Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey. Hollywood's moguls
would love to discover a formula for financially successful films.
One such attempt turns to analysis of Jungian archetypes in the
Hero's Journey.

Sadly no amount of analysis can replace instinct, taste, daring not
to mention acting, direction and cinematography – talent always wins
over formal – but beneath talent lies enduring verities. After each
viewing, we will order out for a meal and discuss the archetypal
power that propelled these successful films.

Emily S. Carter, M.A., has degrees in Anthropology and has studied
folklore. Her non- fiction publishing has continued for 34 years, and
in retirement she is pursing a fiction career. Her fascination with
mythic story structures began in the 1970s when Joseph Campbell's
theories flourished among folklore graduate students. She is a
qualified Myers-Briggs analyst.

If you are interested in expanding your knowledge; want to learn how to work with the endocrine system and meridian points; would like to learn a fascinating new technique; or just want to hang out with really fun, inspiring people, check out this class!

Feb. 24-25 in Georgetown, just a short 20 minute drive north of Austin,
I'll be coordinating a class with Randall Winter, Sr. Practitioner and Advanced Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy®.  He'll be teaching Chapmans reflexes.  Chapmans works the endocrine system using acupuncture meridians/points. Chapmans can help, among other things, wry neck, insomnia, laryngitis, dupuytren's contractions, bronchitis, nerve pain in the shoulder/arm/hand, sciatic issues and more.  It will be an intensive hands on class, lots of opportunity for question/answer. Randall likes to incorporate energetic patterns onto the physical technique, so there will be a lot of different ways for you to apply this.  He likes to have fun in the class, and goes out of his way to make sure participants understand what's going on.   He's been using and teaching this technique since 1990.

Cost of the class is $300 if paid by the 17th, $325 after. Randall will take a credit card, so you don't have to let go of your money right away.  The class is 9-5:30 each day - 16 hours of fun and learning!

You can contact me if you need more information or want to register.  My office number is 512-869-0509 or email tg-rmt@...

If you can't come but know someone else who might be interested, please forward this to them.

Hi all, I will be hosting Randall West, who is a Spiritual Astrologer extraordinare, on Feb. 18,19 and 20, in Wimberley. He will be in Austin on the 17. He is not only a great astrologer, he is a very nice person, easy to consult with, and he will be able to tell you about the patterns in your life that don't serve you and, without any judgement, help you in identifying  ways you can change that.

 If you would like to find out more about Randall, please go to www.changeyourhoroscope.com . He usually charges $200.00 for a two hour reading and consultation, but will charge a group fee of $60.00 per hour reading. If you would like one, please call me: Toll Free: 888-243-4941, or E  mail me at kathyslegacy@... . You will have to book early as he needs your birth details before the reading. You can choose a Life Reading, Relationships, Children or Geographical.

Thanks,

Kathy Scott Perry

This was posted to the Texas_Licensed_Massage Yahoo group this morning by long time public advocate for the massage therapy profession, Doug Barhorst, LMT, MTI, CE and school owner.  (www.balancedbodywork.com) He was generous enough to call and let me know about the post so I could forward it as soon as possible.

I will post this as an additional Word document to the page at http://www.healingtouchtherapies.com/html/massage_laws.html

Thanks, Doug, for keeping us in the loop.  This is an amazing development!  It will be interesting to see who gets to participate/give feedback to this new umbrella agency and how they plan to coordinate and regulate these diverse licensing programs.

For the list members

Dear Board Members and Stakeholders,

Please be advised that a bill will be filed this legislative session
that will propose to move a majority of the Professional Licensing
and Certification Unit away from the Department of State Health
Services and into a newly created agency. This may include the
Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers, Texas State Board of Orthotics
and Prosthetics, and the Massage Therapy Licensing Program. We
don't have a lot of information at this time but wanted to keep you
in the loop. As Kathy states below, there are many unknowns and it
is too early to determine the specific impacts on the programs. We
will provide additional information as it becomes available. Please
forward to any associations and/or members that you deem
necessary.

Thanks,

Subject: Governor is Proposing a New Professionals Regulatory Agency

Dear Staff,
I want to share information with you that I just received through
the course of the last 24 hours. One of the Governor's initiatives
for this legislative session is to create a new "umbrella" state
agency to oversee the regulation of medical and allied health care
licensing programs (this is similar to the Sunset Advisory
Commission's Licensing Reorganization Project that you may remember
from the last legislative session). This afternoon the Governor's
Office released a proposed budget for the next biennium, with more
details on this initiative. It looks like the proposed new agency,
which is to be called the Health Professions Commission, will have
453 employees. It appears to include the vast majority of the
programs within the Professional Licensing and Certification Unit.
It also appears to include EMS because the dedicated EMS fee fund is
one of the funding sources for the new agency. The new agency would
also include licensing and regulatory functions for physicians,
dentists, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacies, podiatrists,
chiropractors, optometrists, physical therapists and occupational
therapists, some other allied health professionals, as well as a
coordination and resource center.

There are many unknowns at this time (i.e. Does this include
Offender Education, the Medical Advisory Board, EMS Providers,
etc). We assume that a bill on this topic will be introduced
shortly that will set out in more detail the components, structure,
and timelines for this new agency. Like all bills, this must be
debated by committees of both the House and Senate and ultimately
approved by those bodies. We will most likely not know the final
outcome of this proposal for several months. Renee, Debbie, and I
will keep you informed as we hear new information.

Please remember that the functions that you are doing will continue
to be needed in a new agency. My experiences with the transfer of
programs between agencies, as with the creation of DSHS, are that
the staff who do the functions continue to do so after the
transformation. So, the "bottom line" is that I believe all
affected will have a job at the end of this process, though some of
you may have a new chain of command and organization.

I just wanted you to know what I know at this time and that I am
committed to keeping you informed. You are welcome to ask me
questions and I will do my best to find out the answers. For those
of you who are interested, the information about this issue is on
the Governor's website @
http://www.governor.state.tx.us/divisions/press/pressreleases/PressRe
lease.2007-02-06.3626

I hope you know how much I appreciate the work you do every day,

Kathy
