( strapping your drums on seems the best approach if you prefer

You are invited to join a community of womyn on a journey of self-discovery
through
exploration of archetypal qualities. Together we will learn – about ourselves;
about others;
new skills for empowerment and create life-long relationships.

Some of the areas for exploration may include: self-awareness and assessment;
goal-
setting and focus; intuition; communication; freedom of movement; healing; self
confidence; breath; intention.

Begins January 11
6:30pm - 9:30pm
Meets every second and fourth Thursday through September.
Followed by a weekend retreat October 5-7.
Optional occasional special event weekends offered as well.

Cost: $10/meeting.
Some scholarships available.

food together, and take it to feed those who are without a warm home

contribute to the meal: loaves of bread, cheese, sandwich fixings,
bags of apples, cookies or cookie dough, festive holiday cookie

The Money Academy will be leading a 4 day journey into business
ownership.  It's called "Kid Company Camp" and campers will work
together to start a business for the week.

They will spend a week as entrepreneurs, learning from successful
local business owners, as they start and run a business of their
own.  Field trips, guest speakers, and a special activities to foster
teamwork and integrity are the cornerstone of the camp.   And they
love the idea that they get to keep the money they make from doing

world of deepening violence and misunderstanding, we need to explore

stories of marriage, family, friendship, divine love, altruistic
love, brotherly love, the love between parents and children, and love

In a unique segment, The Mystery of Love explores love's darker sides
with Dr. James Hillman, world famous Jungian psychologist and author
of A Terrible Love of War. Hillman discusses the feelings of
community and brotherhood soldiers find on the battlefield. Hillman
says of war, "The ecstasy can be the highest moment ever experienced,
as many battle veterans say.  That would make it in common with other
kinds of passionate love: sexual love; divine love; mystical love.
You become crazy, in a way, just as you do in a passionate affair.
You break the rules; you break the bounds; you're outside of
yourself; you find a whole new personality in yourself.  Maybe that's
a shadow of love."

The Mystery of Love also includes insights and commentary from
leading authorities who have worked with the subject of love,
including Rev. Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr.; Betty Sue Flowers, Ph.D.;
Ethel Person, M.D.; Rabbi Alan Lew, and Frances Vaughan, Ph.D.

"Today we are inundated with negative, destructive, even violent
news.  I wanted The Mystery of Love to explore thoughtfully and from
many angles those aspects of life which connect us to one another,
rather than separate us," says Executive Producer Joan Konner.  "As a
journalist, it seemed to me that the most important element of life—
love, in its many  manifestations—should be openly examined and
addressed in the public square."
  "I think people don't feel that they have permission to talk about
something that makes them as vulnerable as love," says scholar and
author Dr. Betty Sue Flowers. "So we don't usually talk about it in
public."
  As host Anna Deavere Smith reminds us at the end of The Mystery of
Love: "Most of us cannot survive, and do not want to live a single
day, without love.  We can make a choice to live life through the
lens of fear, of separation, competition, and loss.  Or we can see
the same world differently, through the lens of love and connection."

to communities and classrooms across the country, the Independent
Production Fund is working with Active Voice and the National Council

Background on Michael Regan
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Michael Regan was educated at
Boston College and Duke University.  In the 1980s, he worked to
promote a non-partisan dialogue on recovery and development in
Central America, and later managed an environmental consulting group.
In 1996, Michael was startled by a series of intense states of
awareness that revealed a luminous dimension that exists beyond the

2) Documentary Film about Psychidelic Music Scene in Austin
     on Fri, 12/2

Austin film maker Scott Conn will screen the documentary he's
creating on December 2nd at the South Austin Museum of Popular
Culture at 7:09pm. The documentary tracks the beginnings of the
counter culture and psychedelic music and the "scene"in Austin. He's
interviewed folks who were central to this emerging phenomenon and
intersperses images of posters and photographs along with clips of
music. It's been edited down to 90 minutes and Scott is looking for
feedback on the film.
