Just wanted to say "Hello," and I'm really happy to have found this
group. My 2 yo son was diagnosed with Celiac in January. We've
since been learning about his diet and all the fun that is. He's
gained 6 pounds and is a completely different little boy. His speech
has even improved quicker than before.

I think the most difficult thing is making sure that babysitters and
church nursery leaders understand the gravity of the situation. No,
he really cannot have just one goldfish. :(

On the positive side, he has learned what gluten is and that it makes
him sick. We just have to say, "I'm sorry, you can't have that. It
has gluten in it." He, sometimes sadly, goes on his way or asks for
something else. Even his 3 yo brother has gotten with the
program. "Does this have gooten in it? No, you can't have that. It
has gooten in it. It makes your tummy hurt." He'll be watching over
the 2 yo all through school. :)

Anyway...glad to have found you. Hope to learn lots from the group.
We're still in the beginning stages of this. I still can't bake
bread very well. ;)

Good luck teaching others about the gravity of our situation. If you don't have celiac, or your children, then people really don't care and usually don't want...
