Hi Deb -
I can more than empathize with your situation -
I've known I'm grain/gluten sensitive for quite a few years, but in the last few
months have gotten much more so. Now I understand what the folks meant when
they talked about a 100% gluten-free diet. It's quite overwhelming.
I did some research last week and found the following sites that might be of
help to you:
Good general sites are : http://www.celiac.com and
http://www.celiac.ca
A site with a great list of processed gluten free foods is:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=celiac&msg=21289.1&move=N\
ext+Discussion%3E%3E
(I only use the ones that have been recently updated. . . . )
Recent updates to this list can be found at:
http://geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4003/gf-contaminated.html
and
http://geocities.com/HotSprings/Spa/4003/gf-nolonger.html
I'm only a novice at this. Good luck - let me know how it's going!
Best,
Valerie

Subject: [Celiac Sprue Disease] Just diagnosed
Hi,
I was just diagnosed on Mon. About 5 wks. ago my dad was diagnosed,
said I needed to be tested, and here I am. I'm feeling a little
overwhelmed as I do all this research online today. I'm trying to be
positive and remember that in the long run I'll probably feel better
than I have in years, but the more I read, the more i realize what a
lifestyle change this will be. I have 2 grown children who now
need to be told and tested also. They both have had some symptoms for
a long time. In the meantime, I'm going to the health food store in
search of gluten free products tonight. Since my diagnosis I've
lived on chicken vegetable soup that I made, mandarin oranges and
bananas. I think I could die for a piece of bread right now.....I am
smiling though, grateful that it's been caught. Just wanted to
introduce myself and say hi. Oh, and one question....I drink a lot of
diet vanilla coke. Does anyone know if the caramel coloring and/or
flavorings are a problem? Thanks.
Deb
