Re: [cbradio] Re: Indoor Antenna?

For an apartment get a Saturn base antenna. You  can stick it out when you want
to use it and bring it in when your done. Sold on Ebay.

Indoor antennas are better than nothing, but your transmit & recieve will be
limited & you will also be exposing anyone in the house to RF. I presently live
in an apartment & have been considering using an indoor antenna myself, but I
can`t wait to relocate to a place where I can have an outdoor antenna.

They make some fairly decent indoor antennas for folks in our predicament, but
nothing can replace a good outdoor antenna at least 36 feet high.

if you can mount the antenna in the window frame you can hide it with a curtin & the glass is better than a brick wall for signals to get through your best bet...

An antenna indoors will work but not as good as having it outdoors. Your talk range will be limited to some degree. If you could stick it out the window...

First look at where you have it mounted. I've found the best spot for a Wilson was dead center on top of your car. Second you can get a lower SWR with a...

If there's no variation from channel 1 to 40, call it good and run it.   You can try to slide the steel whip up or down a bit to see what it does, but I think...

Yeah, that'll help.  Coax should never be coiled, and avoid sharp bends.  Stretch it out as much as possible.  If it's coiled or even faked back and forth...

I respectful would have to disagree on making a magnet out of coax or coils hurting the SWR. While a sharp bend will alter the impedence a properly shielded...
