REACT Month is here once again.
Teams in the DC area, in Ontario, Canada and in York County, PA will be
conducting SOS Drills using FRS radio. If you live in those areas, check for
details as to when the SOS Drills will occur so perhaps you can participate.
Visit www.NationalSOS.com for more information on SOS Drills. In other areas,
you may spot a REACT Safety Display in a mall or hear of other REACT events to
highlight REACT Month.
REACT International, Inc. has just awarded its 'Radio Hero Award' to
nine-year-old Matty Lovo in WA for his use of CB to help stop his dad's runaway
rig loaded with 52 tons of lumber. The media release will soon be viewable at
www.REACTintl.org in the News section.
Remember, in an emergency, broadcast repeatedly WHERE exactly you are (include
the state); WHAT is wrong; WHO is calling. (Follow the same procedure with
cellphone 911 calls that may 'drop'.) Monitors or 911 dispatchers need those key
details. They can then send help even though you may be unable to hear their
replies, or the cell call drops.
Want to help REACT? It's easy. Bookmark www.GoodSearch.com . Type 'REACT
International' in the charity box. Search for 'Matty Lovo'. Whenever you need to
search the web, use GoodSearch. It will make a donation to REACT International
to help in its safety radio efforts. GoodSearch seems easier to use and less
cluttered so you will actually be helping yourself as well. Thanks for helping
REACT help.
Enjoy safe and pleasant travel during REACT Month.
