Unfortunately Dave of Cascade died of Lung Cancer about 10 months
ago. Very sad. He was a great guy! I went to Truck City CB and
although there prices were retail, I liked the service and attention
and the idea that if I needed to, I could bring my radio there
anytime to get looked at. (I didn't want to buy from a website and a
no name person and then have to ship a radio back and forth if there
was a problem) I purchased a base set up with a Samlex 10 amp power
supply, a Galaxy 959, and a Uniden Side Speaker. I am using my Shure
power 526t mike (re-pinned) and although this set up doesn't quite
have the kick in power that my Superbase has, it is damn good. I have
it coupled with a epm-27 pre-amp on the reception. I was going to
sell the Superbase, but I have rethought that. I am taking it to
Truck City to see if they can repair it. The Mic by the way was not
the problem. The problem looks to be a bad regulator, but the boys
at Truck City are going to look at it. Hey, two radios! I like that!
