I have had a GE superbase for 4 years. The only repair guy I knew past
away last year. I live in the Seattle area. There are two quirks I
have noticed with my radio in recent months. When I key up, the volume
on the radio when I listen lowers big time until someone is talking.
In other words, the static I hear all but disappears unless someone
talks.

Another quirk. My modulation even after I re-calibrate is garbled mush
according to listeners for at least a half hour. Then it seems to work
fine.

Any ideas?
