Subject: [akha] Akha Journal: Update

Dear Friends:

 

The Akha Journal #2 is finished and going out in the mail.  I have already covered much of the Chiangmai area.  Chiangrai, other areas, Bangkok and such are still to do as well as I still have to deliver to many Akha villages who made this journal possible.

 

The journal is a deterrent to those who would continue to injure and abuse the Akha.

 

Very appealing in design and feel, the new Journal is a standard we will continue to improve in the next one when we have better computers and such.

 

However, the publication of this edition of the Journal took me to the wall. Total donations in the last three months have fallen below $100 total for each month with the exception of one donation. I am not sure if this has to do with the Iraq war or not.

 

I had little choice but to print anyway.  But the situation is dire.
