4 JULY: Day of Hemp Independence from US Gov.
      #855866 - Thu May 13 2004 11:35 PM

We have plan of the action on 4 July near US Embassy in Moscow with identify as "Day of Hemp Independence from US Government". The propaganda leaflets on this action will be facsimile autotype of "Declaration of Independence" with Russian translation at back. This leaflets will be print on hemp-paper. Opportune, can anubody advice the good shop with hemp-paper?

Also the planned action is good for Russian home policy fight. Russian text of "Declaration of Independence" allow to do analogue:
(America - English King)/1776 = (Russia - Vladimir Putin)/2004 = Freedom ;-)

This action can be held on two sides of the pond at once. Isn't it? ;-)

PS: Suitable for polygraphy facsimile -

Excellent work. Was there any consequences from the authorities of the Russian state for this action?

What additional action is planned?

Welcome to Moscow! Day of Perceptions new [Re: Marc Scott Emery]
      #900252 - Sat Jul 17 2004 01:56 AM

"Was there any consequences from the authorities of the Russian state for this action?"

It was successfully, Marc. Big number of cops were stand guarding the celebration 4 July in Kuskovo. In spite of we have not a problems. At the beginning of lefleats distributing some lieutenant colonel approached and asked we about our plans: "The organizers are upseting, they do not know about we. What will you be doing? Meeting? Demonstration? What else?" I informed him what we will distribute leaflets only and asked him to pass leaflet with our news release to organizers of celebrate. In ten minutes his approached and sayed what implement it. We hadn’t more asks from cops after.

There was many peoples in spite of cloudburst – 3000-4000. De facto we done a good turn to American Chamber of Commerce and US Embassy. Many peoples who went on Independence Day celebration in Moscow had very rough idea about its historical essence. Especially they hadn’t known what Declaration of Independence historical original was print on hemp paper.

"What additional action is planned?"

September 1st have traditional Russian name – The Day of Knowledge (Den Znaniy). We have intention to celebrate this day with mass public ganja smoking. Russian name of our action sound as Den So-Znaniy (Day of Co-Knowledge or Day of Perceptions). The place of public ganja smoking is near Griboedov-monument. Griboedov is famous Russian writer and diplomat of 19th century. He was killed in Tegeran: crowd of religious fanatics throwed to him stones. His poem "Gore ot Uma" (Sorrow from the Mind) is internationally known. And English metaphrase of Gribo-Edov sound as Mushrooms Eater! ;-)

So. 1st of September, 18:00, Moscow. Griboedov-monument (exit from "Turgenevskaya" metro station).

We are waiting Loretta with comrades and cams on this action!

Welcome to Moscow!

Also glad to be here. Cannabisculture.com is the powerful and useful resource. Unfortunately, my english is bad and i can't to take full-value part in discussion here. However, each written message allow to improve my English. Thanks for your patience by view of my illiterate messages.

"There are some very good people here"

What's mean "some"?! The others perhaps are very bad or also good but no so much? Maybe... the "some" is something different? Russian popular saying: fisherman are seeing another fisherman from far away. ;-)

Welcome to Russia!

Goldy, your English is fine, your use of the word 'cloudburst' is better and more poetic than the usual use of the word 'rain'.

Loretta Nall is going to Colombia in South America from August 15 - 27 to investigate US crop spraying, the DEA drug war and its effects on the ordinary peasant people of Colombia, with the renowned Sanho Tree. I would like her to visit Russia for you September 1st day but it might be not possible on those dates. However, I am still very much planning on sending her to see the Russian activists (yourself and the others in your organization)in September.

Were the activists charged with crimes for demonstrating during the Global Marijuana March (May 1st) released and the charges dropped (cancelled) by the State?

Goldyz, your English is far, far better than my Russian

I will not be able to make it on September 1st to the event. September is actually going to be a very busy month for me working in the Alabama legislature trying to get medical marijuana legislation passed.
I am also speaking at Auburn University on September 30.

Is Russian weather hospitable for travelers after September?

In this case I used the word 'some' improperly, it would have been more accurate to say 'There are many very good people here.'

Appeal to Support the Transnational Radical Party!
      #899926 - Fri Jul 16 2004 03:18 PM

http://servizi.radicalparty.org/documents/index.php?func=detail&par=3542

09/07/2004 | Appeal to Support the Transnational Radical Party in view of the ECOSOC Vote on the Vietnamese Request to Suspend its Consultative Status for three Years

Dear friend,

As you know, on July 21 the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations will vote on a Vietnamese request to suspend the general consultative status of the Transnational Radical Party for three years.

You might also be aware of what the TRP, as an NGO affiliated with the UN, has been able to accomplish since 1995. It ardently supported the creation of the International Criminal Court, a resolution for a universal moratorium on the death penalty, and a variety of antiprohibitionist activities. It has also been an active presence at the UN in Geneva, Vienna and New York, allowing to several oppressed peoples the opportunity to make their voices heard before the United Nations.

Indeed, many agree that TRP's contribution has been significant, and that it has had some substantial impact on world affairs, otherwise a regime like Vietnam would not be trying so hard to expel us from the UN system for having fought for religious freedom and for the indigenous rights of the Montagnard people, who have been brutally persecuted by Hanoi for years.

Today, like four years ago, when the Russian Federation presented a similar request, we want to show that "common sense" sides with democracy and civil and political rights for everyone. We will counter the Vietnamese request using our political tools.

We are working to avoid the worst possible outcome: our expulsion. For this reason, we write to seek your support by

signing the appeal and encouraging others to sign

joining the TRP and encouraging others to join as well

In all our campaigns, we were took full advantage of our Consultative Status with the United Nations. In the future, we would like to continue to do so, and for this reason we are committed to obtaining a favourable vote on July 21. Our defeat would represent a defeat for democracy and for the UN system of protecting human rights.

We hope you will join us.

For $277?

TRP might want to lower the membership to a more reasonable rate if they want people to join. I remember NORML Canada used to charge outrageous amounts of money for membership (not sure if this is still the case).

The Transnational Radical Party has done some very good work in Europe and in regards the United Nations. Its a viable organization that makes good use of your money and confidence.
