Good information to put before our facility administration!

I've heard there is a study being discussed in regards to what hospitals
are doing just state reporting or have a full blown registry doing
studies, follow-up, complete abstracting. All of this will be taken into
consideration. For example in 1981 there were 41 data items per abstract
and in 2006 we have today over 200 data items. There were 10 or less codes
to choose from for any one data item in 1981 and there are now are 50 or
more codes for each data item. Also in 1981 there were 4 areas of the
cancer program surveyed and now there are 9 areas surveyed. There were no
specific standards in 1981 and we now have 32 standards. I did not compile
this but someone else did and this person now works for the COC.

Does anyone have any ideas on how many FTE's per amount of cases is
appropriate to run an COC approved program?
