One of the Cancer Registrars I spoke with in Anchorage, Alaska, also mentioned
one of her fellow employees taking courses with that facility and liked it. I
have taken a previous course with AHIMA and liked the online format for
education.
I am wondering if some of you would contribute your views of whether one is
better than the other...and why?
Also, what was/is the motivation to move in the direction of becoming a
Certified Cancer/Tumor Registrar?
I appreciate the input and look forward to reading from the group.

Santa Barbara City College has a program. The classes are online and the
rates are the same for all community colleges in the state (ie cheaper for
in state residents). I took a few classes there before becoming a CTR, I
found them to be helpful.
Here is the link for the college homepage: http://www.sbcc.edu/
And for the AS program: http://www.sbcc.edu/apply/files/aa_as/cim.pdf
and for the certificate: http://www.sbcc.edu/apply/files/cert/cim.pdf
Good luck in your educational pursuits.
