At our facility we have a weekly productivity report each employee fills out.
It allow us to record everything we have done on a daily basis from recording
how many abstracts you did and the time it took to how much time you spent on
calling other facilities for treatment to how many charts you had to pull from
medical records and how long that took. I don't think you can set such a goal
of 7.5 per day. That is not a reasonable goal. We follow the CoC standard of
staying within 6 months. I would suspect that the person setting the goals for
your facility is totally clueless as to what is all involved in getting one
abstract complete. Yes if all you had were in-situ, simple prostates, class 3
cases, etc... then you could do 7.5 cases (or even more) in one day.

in the past. It is extremely
important that I gather data on the number of abstracts done per day.
This is on a day when all 8 hours is spent on abstracting only. Do you
have an enforeced quota that has to be met daily and if so, what is the
number of abstracts required? Our employer is requiring us to complete
7.5 abstracts daily for an 8 hour day. They are monitoring us on a
weekly basis and we have been informed that we will be subject to
corrective action and discipline if we cannot achieve this quota. We
feel this is unreaslistic. Does anyone have any input or help?
