The Oncology Service Line (of which the registry is a part) decided to
drop the Annual Report. I'm not really sure why that decision was
made. In my opinion the change in the standard downgraded the
importance of using registry data. The Annual Report is a vital part
of program oversight. It provides the stakeholders both internal and
external with a snapshot of which cancer program goals were achieved,
the incidence of cancer at your facility compared to regional or
national data, survival information based on treatment protocol, the
importance of the registry and how each facility is improving the
quality of the lives of the people in the community.
