I would code this site to the breast if I were doing it. The same rule
applies if you were coding a lymphoma of the stomach. You would code it to the
stomach site, not lymph nodes. Of course with the breast site you would
probably
get a histology/site warning, but I would override it. I think if this
histology was found in breast tissue proper and not just connective tissue near
the
breast, than it needs to be coded as such.

If you have a leiomyosarcoma of the breast, do you code it to breast or soft tissue of the trunk and where do I find the rule on this? Thanks, Lori...

Leiomyosarcoma falls under the chapter on soft tissue so therefore you would code this to soft tissue and not to the breast. Check the cancer staging manual...

Hi Lori . . . Here's my two cents. Don't use the staging guide to code the primary site, tempting though it is. Those eligible histology lists at the start...
