Linda, Bless your heart, that sounds like so much work, but you have
to do what you have to do....Has anyone approached the College about
an electronic version of the staging form that doctors can actually
fill out on-line, and electronically sign? If not, we tumor
registrars and medical records administrators really need to press
them on this issue. Our facility will be EMRed by 01/04, and we have
been meeting with the medical records people on how to handle the
forms. Looks like for us, the forms will go in a temporary medical
record, and then scanned in after 90days. But if you are encouraging
physicians to use their computer to review their patients medical
record, they are not going to happy about still coming in to the
hospital to complete and/or sign forms also...

At NCRA this year I do remember someone saying they are working on an electronic version for the forms. I think there was an article in the Advance also, but...
