Hi, my name is Beau Smith and I am in my second year of college to
become a RHIT. I live in Missouri.
My first question concerns what a person has to do to become a CTR,
specifically what do you study before taking the certification test
and where you get the material, and where do you go to get the
information about the test.
My second question had to do with an inservice I have to give as a
class project. The subject is, of course, confidentiality. The
question posed is if a social worker askes you for a copy of a minor
ward of the court medical record and has a signed ROI from the minor,
do you release the information. I am assuming that the different
circumstances must be covered such as wether the minor has a guardian
or not, if there is abuse or not, etc.
Any assistance that anyone can give me in either of these qusetions
would be greatly appreciated.
