Job Description: Register and follow patients with a diagnosis of a
malignancy; collect, retrieve and analyze registry data; assist in
the conducting of research; disseminate this data in accordance with
regulatory agency requirements and professional ethics; and provide
assistance in all phases of registry work. The Cancer Registry
Specialist must be highly knowledgable regarding cancer registry
functions, requirements, and deadlines. Extensive knowledge of
anatomy, cancer disease processes, therapeutic procedures and
interventions, ICD-O coding and medical terminology required.
Knowledge of statistical formulas and scientific data collection
methods preferred. Excellent clerical and advanced computer skills
required.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of
Cancer Methodology course and/or Accredited Record Technician course
preferred. National certification as a "Certified Cancer Registrar"
or eigibility and/or "Accredited Record Technician" required. At
least one year experience in the Cancer Registry field.
