Several members of this group have asked me to join them on Facebook. Other
members do their messages by email groups.

Very little takes place in this discussion group. Partly because we have all
moved on to better lives. Partly because the growth of the Web has provided us
with so many ways to keep in touch with people. I remember my first encounter
with Arpanet back 40 years ago. It was a big step up from Ham Radio and
telephone, but it lacked personality.

The evolution of the Internet and the Web has been very interesting to watch and
participate in. I know that it is still growing and is only about equivalent to
a 4 year old child. It has forgotten most of the early years and is beginning to
realize the potential of maturity.

I want to keep a link to the past, but my page holders don't seem to be exciting
or informational.

Other than living a normal life I am pursuing a goal of running a 5 mile race in
less than 40 minutes. After 14 years of chasing that goal and getting within 12
seconds of achieving it 12 years ago I find it harder to make progress. Last
year my best was 3 minutes too slow. So far this year I my best has been 9
minutes too slow. I expect to get closer than that before the end of the year.

Age has given me the ability to win races in my age group. That has been
exciting, but it was never a goal. Winning is being able to drive home after
crossing the finish line. When I run my last race I hope to fall forward across
the finish line with the knowledge that I had a good life.

If anyone has a suggestion about continuing this forum, please post it. I expect
to keep the Web site online until I find the cost to be more than I am willing
to spend. I doubt I will change it in the future and we are all intimately aware
of what is already there.

Shalom,
Chuck
