Hi Bets,
Sorry to hear that the Beast has struck again. Best wishes for good luck with everything it involves.
I am doing fine. I'm in remission for my leukemia. I take a pill everyday which keeps the beast away. The only problem is that they haven't figured out how to keep us in remission without this pill, so it's not really a remission. We have to take our meds for a lifetime unless they come up with something better in the future.
I'm in a clinical trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering for cml leukemia. I am receiving a vaccine as well as taking Gleevec (the pill). I get a series of 15 vaccines which they hope will build up our own immunity to the problem. Sure hope it works.
In the meantime, I work and am living life as usual. Thanks for the condolences on my mom. She had a six year battle with colon cancer and it finally got the best of her. It was a tough way to go, and not easy to watch.
Please stay in touch. It was good to hear from one of the "old timers"!
