RE: [cancer_survivors_gathering_place] Re: breast cancer survivor-new

Hi, and welcome to this site.  You will find support and help through the tough times that still will come.  I am a 15-year stage three breast cancer who was expected to survive maybe two years max.  And I'm doing quite well in that area.

I need to ask all of you for some prayers and good thoughts.  This is the six-month anniversary of the congestive heart, liver and kidney failure and I have numerous appointments to commemmorate that -- cardiologist, my general practitioner and a new person, a physician's assistant who will follow my case.  And then there is the echocardiogram -- this one is from the front side and I get to stay awake.  Yaaaa!

I'm doing quite well in most areas, but am really feeling a lot of depression and frustration over the things that seem to have been fried when I lost some brain cells.  So in addition to having an oncologist, an endicronoligist to monitor my diabetes, a GP, a cardiologist, and a cardioly physician's assistant, I have a therapist to help me come to terms with the frustrations I feel when I can't remember something.  Such fun.....

Other than that, things are fine.  I suspect they will tweak my meds again...my blood pressure and heart rate have been a bit high.  Coming down, but not all the way.  And my blood sugar is not where it should be.  Could that be from the ice cream we've been eating????

Hope you are doing well and find the support you need.

Hugs,

Marla

Good to greet you on this website. . . I've been on and off for the last 17 years, when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer.  I just had my annual check up and I'm aok. . . Can't believe its been that many years. .  but I've learned that now is really the only time we have. .. and taking each day at a time. . . just know you are not alone. .  we are all here for you as survivors. . . keep on keeping. . . GOooooooo SURVIVORS. . . . Evie in NJ

Hi: I joined this group a number of years ago and the outreach of
support and help when you need it (which I think we all do at times) is
outstanding.

I have gone months without posting and then something comes up and the
first place I turn to is this group. I am hopeful that you find the
support that is right for you with this group. If not, best of luck
and know that we are all survivors together! Laurie
