Don't worry about the scope going down your esophagus. I had about two
dozen endoscopies in my esophagus. The mild anesthesia keeps the
esophagus quiet so you don't cough up the thing. You might feel the
part that keeps your mouth open, but it doesn't hurt. The worst part
is the taste of the stuff they use to suppress the swallow reflex in
your throat. I'm sure you will do well.
