Chuck: Hope you are feeling better. I don't have a lot of trust in doctors unless it is my oncologist or my family doctor I have had for years. You will be in my prayers. Laurie

Subject: [cancer_survivors_gathering_place] An interesting doctor visit
Earlier this week I had a high fever and chest congestion. I went to
the VAMC Urgent Care center and was treated by a doctor I had met 5
years ago. He didn't remember me. He kept asking me psychological
questions as if I were nuts to complain about a fever. I didn't get a
chance to tell him that my oncologist and PCP have standing orders to
come to the Medical Center any time my fever spikes over 101.
Eventually, without a physical exam or tests he prescribed an
antibiotic for bronchial infection.
The interesting part is he was Jackie's psychiatrist 5 years ago
before he retired from private practice.
Shalom,
Chuck
