Hmmn! I don't usually respond to a request for information with
questions. However, we don't usually deal with these kinds of
requests in this place. I may be able to point you to a forum that
can answer your questions.
When you write "throat cancer", what type of cancer is it? What type
of radiation are you having (x-ray, proton, neutron, gamma-ray)?
What radiation center will be doing it? Have you had other cancer
treatments already? What part of your throat is the cancer in?
In general, radiation is not painful. There are side effects of any
radiation. Whatever is radiated probably won't function very well if
at all when they are done. You will be tired during the period of
the radiation. You will probably get depressed (if you aren't
already at this stage). When the radiation finishes you are likely
to feel relieved and thankful when you get your graduation
certificate (my wife got one; I didn't). The more support you have
from family and friends during and after the radiation the better
your life will be. You may have to find new friends to replace the
ones who can't handle your illness. We try to provide upbeat support
here. You CAN survive this! Just ask any of us.
Shalom,
Chuck
