Re: [cancer_survivors_gathering_place] Re: Baseball

Evelyn:  Thanks, this time I am not going the victim route - but trying out the survivor route!  I appreciate your note and the prayers.  Will definetly let you know how everything turns out.  Laurie in Washington

Way to go Laurie. . . I faced a similar situation nearly 15 yrs. ago. . . worrying only makes wrinkles. . . that was the advice my surgeon gave me.  I'll be praying for you on the 22nd. . . and just hang in there, remember living is what we can do NOW. . . so keep smiling. . . there are bumps in the road. . . but you're still moving and you HAVE survived the worst. . . and that's what counts.  Take care. . and keep us posted. . . we're all here for you.

Evie in NJ. . .

Chuck:  I was so happy with my anniversary that it floored me the Monday after I wrote the email my oncologist called and they are putting me on estrogen for two weeks and I have to go back for a different type of test.  They say "don't worry" probably the atypical pap was caused by the radiation (even two years later), but I had a brief pity party for myself and decided that whatever is happening is going to happen and worry isn't going to help.

So thoughts and prayers are appreciated as I go in for the test on the 22nd of this month.  Thanks again for keeping up this community, I love reading the comments and feel as if I know everyone.  Laurie

Laurie,

Thank you. Sports are just one of the things that make me feel good.
Music and reading - fiction and non-fiction - work good, too.

Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary. I remember when I graduated
to 6 months and later 1 year between followups. It was so great to
learn that my oncologist expected me to still be alive the next year.

The weather is so strange. The Arctic is melting and the Antarctic set
a new record for greatest extent of sea ice pack. Here in New
Hampshire we are setting records almost daily for warmest September
weather. And you are cold. It almost makes me believe the world isn't
flat after all.

Shalom,
Chuck
