Effie Jo,
I didn't forget you. When you joined you just entered the december2day
Yahoo handle. I followed it to your blog from 2006 and found 3
messages and your first name. Auto racing was a lot of fun for me and
clearly for you. I hadn't thought about the four years I was involved
and it brought back good memories. So I picked the only topic you had
left for me to talk about.
I hope you have a good time in St. George and NO hurricanes. I've been
to Tampa a few times - always in January. Once to visit some friends
we met through an internet group. Twice to Busch Gardens. The second
time it snowed and rained and only our children enjoyed themselves.
The first time at Busch Gardens was heaven. We had visited Disney
World (reluctantly) two days earlier. I was grabbed by a boat
attendant, slammed into a bulkhead, and knocked unconscious. Later
Mickey Mouse punched me in the nose because I refused to take his
picture. I wished I had taken our cat with us to eat Mickey. At Busch
Gardens the weather was sunny and in the 80's. We sat on the patio at
the brewery. My wife kept bringing me beer from a never ending tap and
I watched people feeding the ducks and other birds begging for food.
Years later when we brought our kids the brewery patio was closed and
there was only the amusement park. I didn't miss it because my beer
drinking days were only a memory by then.
We are getting a new linoleum in our kitchen today. Gotta wash the old
one so they won't think we're slobs.
Shalom,
Chuck
