Subject: [cancer_survivors_gathering_place] A Joke from Evie & my response

Three men were sitting in a bar, bragging about how they had told their new
wives what their marital duties would be.

The first man had married a woman from Alabama and bragged that he had told
his wife she was going to do all the dishes and house cleaning.  He said it
took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and
the dishes were done.

The second man had married a woman from West Virginia. He bragged that he
had ordered his wife to do all the cleaning, dish washing and cooking. On
that the first day he didn't see any results, but the next day it was
better.  By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he
had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a girl from New Jersey.  He boasted that he told
her that she was to keep the house cleaned, the dishes done, the lawn mowed,
the laundry washed and put hot meals on the table for every meal.  He said
the first day he didn't see anything ... the second day he didn't see
anything .. but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he
could see well enough out of one eye to fix himself a sandwich, load the
dishwasher and call a landscaper.

Since the middle of February I have been cooking, shopping, cleaning the house, washing the dishes, washing the laundry, and dressing Jackie.  Jackie is doing physical therapy 3 days a week and improving the mobility of her right arm. I expect to get a reprieve from some of these chores, but I will continue with some. We split the workload in half 39 years ago and unbalanced it after the children were born. I was working 80 hour weeks including a lot of travel and Jackie was working 80 hour or more weeks at home. I guess we were never candidates for a Coors beer or Miller Lite commercial. And we have no regrets. Life has been "Interesting".

Shalom,
Chuck
