Hi, Pat et al,
My name is Pamela Stevens. I, too, am new to the group and interested
in alternative treatments.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in March 1998. Mine is a little
different (Leave it to me to be a "little different!") - Slow-growing
tumors that don't seem to respond to anything and must be cut away.
May 1, 2003 was my third major debulking surgery, and, for six months
after that, my second course of chemotherapy. Physically, I am, and
have been through all of this, in fantastic shape. I have bounded back
from each surgery and chemotherapy, and I feel great.
Mentally, that can be another story. To know that I have this invader
growing inside my body that traditional medicine just can't seem to get
a handle on...it's indescribably frustrating and extremely scary at
times; but you know how that feels.
My doctor has been preparing me for the next surgery - a major procedure
that will more than likely result in a permanent colostomy. While I am
prepared to do it if unavoidable, I keep thinking there MUST be a better
way.
If my body keeps "making" tumors, then surely I can change what I put
into my body to make a difference? That led me to learn more about
macrobiotic diets. I am doing my best to adhere to macrobiotic
principles, and have cut sugar out of my diet as much as possible.
A couple of months ago, I began visiting an acupuncturist twice a week.
He has a history of actually curing cancer patients, so I feel like I'm
in good hands. He has me taking Red Clover/Stillingia (Hoxsey formula),
Cinnamon & Hoelen (to reduce tumors), and Oxy-cleanse (to clean out the
colon). You're right, Pat; this all gets to be pretty expensive. I had
some money saved up from my last job, but I have gone through quite a
bit of that.
I can't yet say how this is working for me. For the last three months,
one tumor in my lower abdomen that I am able to feel has grown. But I
have felt some changes in it lately, and hope that it is actually
getting smaller.
Another thing I do that has been so important for me is what I call
"Spiritual Visualization Healing." And I KNOW this can work. One of my
tumors was reduced in size before my second surgery. The surgeon is the
one that pointed this out.
I relax/meditate/pray for healing. (Since I am a Christian, I pray.
But this would work for ANY religion or belief system.) I visualize
this beautiful sparkling light/energy swirling around and dissolving the
tumors. There are other methods. This is what works for me.
Pat, I wish you strength, hope and peace in your journey. If you need
someone to talk with, let me know.
Take care,
Pamela

Hi,
I started off over at the cancercure group. I want to share my
experience and learn everything I can to put it in remission.
I will cut and paste my postings from the other group so you have an
idea what I've done so far. I look forward to corresponding with
everyone here.
